I have a confession: There was a time I’d say I didn’t have a knack for art, crafting, creative anything. Ever say that? I no longer believe or think that.
because I have experienced success in my years of crafting. And I
was the last person I thought would really get it!

Looking back at a few of my craft making shenanigans ...
In the summer when I was seven years old, I crafted a fruit bowl with
popsicle sticks. Haha yes! It was at Brownie Camp. What I remember was the process, the encouragement and the happiness finding that my mom really loved the bowl. I remember seeing it filled with fruit. What a momma! I realized I liked making things at that wee age.
I love to cook. My first memories of cooking was making mud pies in our backyard with my sister. One of our many shenanigans. Oh yes we ate one piece of pie and found it did not taste like mom’s. But we had fun and liked the making part! The process of creating is what we connected to plus chocolate and mud are the same, right?
In high school I crafted my first scrapbook. Alas, the book was not archival quality so now it is in need of love and repair. It demos my high school years and I love it! I knew it was important. How? I felt it. It brought joy to my family and still does. Makes me giddy haha.

Talent is something innate in all of us. It’s there. If I can do it, you can too.
“The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.
Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty.”
~Dieter F. Uchtdorf
